Welcome to the new MSA Sports website. The purpose of this help page is to provide you with some general information as to the content that is available via the MSA Sports Site.
MSA Sports is first and foremost a website dedicated to the high school sporting events of Western Pennsylvania, and more specifically, sporting events sanctioned by the Western Pennsylvania Athletic Association (WPIAL, PIAA District 7), Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League (PIHL) and Pittsburgh City Schools (PIAA District 8).
In order to enhance the user experience for the visitors interested in the schools contained in the three groupings noted above, we have created School Fan pages for each school and the sports they participate in.
By registering with the MSA Sports website, you will have the ability to engage with other fans in a variety of ways - commenting on articles, sharing thoughts on posts, joining your favorite schools fan pages, interacting with the mobile aspects of our site and more! Registration is free and requires a valid email address and password.
To register, select the "Register" option from the upper right hand corner of your home page:

This log in can be used to access the "submit scores" functionality via our mobile score entry page, which can be found at www.msasports.net/m
Your log in will also be able to be used for joining school fan pages, as well as posting comments to articles as these capabilities are further enabled throughout the Fall 2011 and Winter 2012 sports seasons..
With the launch of our new website this fall, we have enhanced our school pages by further developing them to be School Fan Pages. Due to the interactive nature of these new pages, we will be rolling their usage out gradually, providing four (4) school pages with full functionality for a trial period. This will allow the staff at MSA to monitor the usage, ensuring that we have incorporated mechanisms that will allow us to address inappropriate commenting or usage that could be seen as different than what was originally intended for this area. Additionally, it will allows us to further test the area to provide for a positive user experience. The schools that will be rolled out first will be the four (4) 2010 -2011 MSA Sports Cup winners - North Allegheny, Hampton, Shadyside Academy and Sewickley Academy.
School Fan pages have been made available for all District 7 / WPIAL schools as well as those schools that may not be part of District 7 but, compete in the WPIAL for at least one sport. In addition, District 8 / Pgh Public Schools and schools that play hockey as part of the PIHL are also included.
To join a school fan page, you will first need to be a registered user of the site. Next, you will need to login to the site. This can be done via the top right hand portion of any page on the site:

or, via the "login" link from the school page you are attempting to join:
