Frequently Asked Questions

MSA Sports Network is a fast-growing radio network. With 27 radio stations, MSA Sports Network services Western Pennsylvania, one of the hottest regions for high school athletics.

To listen to any of our games, talk shows, or media clips, you will need to have Windows Media Player installed. If you do not, or your version is outdated, you can download it for free here. If you have another operating system, we suggest that you contact your manufacturer. The version that we recommend is for Windows users is 9 or higher. Mac users must install version 7.1.

From our front page at MSASports.net, you need to click on the "Broadcasts" Tab located on the top of the home page. The link takes you to the broadcast calendar page. Any broadcast going on that day will be listed under the heading "TODAY'S HIGH SCHOOL BROADCASTS" and "TODAY'S COLLEGE BROADCASTS".

Click on the name of the team (in blue) for the game that you want, and you will be taken to that game's page. Before pre-game time, the page will only display game information. Once the pregame game time has come, refresh the page and you will then see a link saying, "Click here to listen". This links opens up Windows Media Player window and the game will automatically start playing. (You may be prompted to install an active X plug in on your first visit to our site.)

To listen to a past broadcast, start out once more from the MSA Sports Network home page, then follow these steps:

Click on the "broadcast" tab at the top of the MSA Sports Network home page at MSASports.net.

Click the date from the calendar that you are interested in, that will take you to the listing of all broadcasts from that day.

Click on the game that you want, which will take you to that game's info page. (The same page you would see during the live broadcasts). Click on the "Click here to listen" link, and that will launch a Windows Media Player window to start playing the file.

The click to listen link only appears 15 minutes before the pre-game. If there is no pre-game, it will appear 15 minutes before the actual game time. If you are early enough, there is a good chance you will hear dead air until you reach the pre-game or game time.

All broadcasts that are up to MSA Sports Network's quality standards will be archived on the website. Live and archived broadcast quality depends on a number of factors between the field and our headquarters. While we strive to do our best to give our listeners a quality product - if you notice a problem, please contact us by clicking on the "Contact" link at the top of any MSA Sports Network page.

Due to the varied time schedule of games, each and every MSA Sports Network broadcast is edited by our technicians. Therefore, most games will not be edited immediately upon archiving. Currently, weekday and Saturday games are edited the day they are broadcast, and Friday night games are edited Saturday morning.

Games that experienced technical difficulties will not have an archive available for them, and a note will be posted at the bottom of the page regarding this. If you experience any technical problems with an archive, please send us an email to support, or fill out our trouble form on the Contact page.

Games that have been, or will be, broadcast on MSA Sports Network have the following symbol in front of them: . There are two ways to check a school's schedule:

  1. Click on either High School or College on the menu bar.
    • Click on the link for the school you are interested in. You will now be taken to the school's general information page. The menu will have expanded to show a list of all the sports covered for that school.
    • Click on the sport that you are interested in, and you will now see the school's schedule for the current season of that sport.
  2. Click on the "archive" button at the top of any MSA Sports Network page
    • Click on the region in the left-hand menu.
    • Use the calendar to navigate to the month and date that you are interested in.

Sometimes there are two or even three separate broadcasts for the same game. This allows you to choose which specific broadcast you would like to listen to.

If you click on CONTACT at the top of the page, there are links that will allow you to make the CORRECTION or SUBMIT A SCORE. You can also phone a score in, if you are at a game, by calling 412-539-0369.

We only have schedules that are given to us by the schools and fans. If you would like to get a team schedule up on the site, email to MSA Sports Network. We would love to have everyone's schedule and results.
