Positive Athletes Recognized at NA
On Tuesday, December 11th at 12:00pm, the McCandless Rotary and the North Allegheny Athletic Department will honor twenty-eight (28) fall student-athletes with a Positive Athlete T-shirt and luncheon. The Rotary held its weekly meeting and luncheon in the Baierl Center’s Ponce Room.
McCandless Rotary joined forces with MSA Sports as a sponsor to Hines Ward’s Positive Athlete Award Program. The Positive Athlete Award Program honors student-athletes who demonstrate the following characteristics for their team: Optimistic attitude, encouraging teammates, servant leader, heart for others, admits imperfections, always gives 100%, and puts their team first.
The student-athletes honored are as follows:
Girls Soccer – Maddie Layman & Madison Martin
Football – Zach Lyons & Kevin Edwards
Boys Cross Country – Josh Zemet & Mike Meehan
Girls Cross Country – Emma Emery & Allison Zeppuhar

Winter 2012-2013 Positive Athletes
On Tuesday, March 5th, the McCandless Rotary, in conjunction with former Steelers’ great, Hines Ward and MSA Sports, honored (28) winter student-athletes with Positive Athlete Pittsburgh Awards. The Positive Athlete Program honors athletes that exemplify seven definitions of a positive athlete: optimistic attitude, encourages teammates, servant leader, helps others, admits imperfections, always gives 100%, and puts the team first.
